Maths HEP Lunchtime Seminars: The amplitude and spin-chain Yangians in N=4 SYM

The underlying algebra obeyed by the infinite tower of increasingly non-local charges
in an integrable quantum field theory is called the Yangian. In the case of N=4
supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory this Yangian has a rather different manifestation on
the scattering amplitudes of the theory as compared to the spin-chain comprising the
local gauge invariant operators. In this talk I will show how methods arising from the study of amplitudes yield a precise connection between the two Yangians.
