Linear solvers are the motor for many computer simulations that are based on partial differential equations. For a wide range of problems, multigrid
solvers belong to the most efficient ones. By combining the advantages of geometric and algebraic multigrid and by implementing it in a strictly local manner on a spacetree, we tailored it to high performance computers and improved the robustness of the solver compared to state-of-the-art spacetree-based multigrid solvers significantly.
