Topological Solitons Seminar: Lightly Bound Skyrmions

The Skyrme model aims to provide a geometric description of nuclear matter. Among its many successes and failing, one issue is that the baryons it describes are too tightly bound. With a small modification, inspired by the recent derivation of a new lower energy bound, the baryons can have classical binding energies close to experimental values.
