Topological Solitons Seminar: The Skyrme model on S^3

Presented by Lukasz Bratek,

4 February 2004 13:00 in CM221

"The model admits very rich spectrum of spherically symmetric equivariant mappings S3->SU(2)~S3 which appear gradually as the radius of the base three-sphere grows. In the limit of infinite radius the mappings pointwise approach harmonic maps between three-spheres with attached skyrmions at the poles."
