Maths HEP Lunchtime Seminars: Modular properties of string theory on the world-sheet and the target space

Presented by Michael Green, Cambridge

20 February 2015 13:00 in CM221

This talk will give an overview of old and new results that relate properties of string perturbation theory and non-perturbative features of string theory.
The new results (based on work with Eric D'Hoker and Pierre Vanhove) relate to mathematical properties of classes of genus-one modular invariants that arise in the low energy expansion of the N-particle
scattering amplitude at genus one.
