Topology Reading Seminar: Nice views of a pattern space, continued...

Presented by John Hunton, Durham

30 October 2013 11:00 in CG218

Prof Hunton will continue last week's G&T talk "Nine views...", in particular moving on from the general and abstract descriptions of a pattern space to structures and models allowing for specific calcuation for patterns arising as cutting sequences and/or substitution patterns. These ideas will finally be linked to modelling pattern spaces via attractors of DA diffeomorphisms on surfaces and the introduction of a new topological invariant based on derived functors of inverse limits.
