Pure Maths Colloquium: Biracks: a new algebra for virtual links and knots

Presented by "Roger Fenn (University of Sussex, Brighton)",

4 February 2002 16:00 in CM221

" The fundamental rack or quandle has been shown to classify classical knots and links but it is inadequate for
virtual knots and links. In order to get around this the fundamental biquandle has been invented with the hope
that it will fulfill the same promise. The definition, some properties and various applications will be given in this talk."
