Led by staff, departments, students and societies, Durham Global Week 2023's events highlighted cultural diversity across the University.

2 March 2023: Ukrainian Refugees: Challenges and Possibilities

Our panel of experts explored how the state, the humanitarian system and educational institutions could help diverse groups of refugees in their new and old homes.

04 March 2023: Global Goals Summit

The Global Goals Summit represented Durham University’s signature youth summit, a local convening of young people who want to make a true impact on global challenges.

05 March 2023: World Fest

Run by student societies and featuring dance performance and lessons, World Fest celebrated the cultural diversity of students at Durham University.

05 March 2023: International Politics Round Table

Participants were invited to partake in a chaired political debate on a defined motion regarding the place of nationality within international sporting events.

06 March 2023: Arbitrating for Peace

This discussion explored investment treaty arbitration in enforcing a global rule of law, facilitating peace and security through protection of foreign investments.

11 March 2023: Holi Festival 2023

Holi, the Indian Spring Festival, is known as the Festival of Colours when friends and family celebrate by throwing brightly coloured powders over each other.
