Department of Geography

Open Days & Visits

The best way to find out more about living and studying at Durham University is to come on one of our pre-application open days.

We run pre-application open days in both Durham City and at Queen's Campus.

Forthcoming University Open Days

  • Monday 30th June, 2014
  • Saturday 5th July, 2014
  • Saturday 20th September, 2014

Queen's Campus, Stockton Open Days

  • Friday 27th June, 2014
  • Saturday 13th September, 2014

For further details about University open days please refer to the central open day pages.

There are several scheduled opportunities to visit the Department both before and after you apply for our degree programmes.

Applicants are also welcome to visit the Department but we cannot always guarantee that a member of staff will be able to speak to, especially during term time.

Post-Application Open Days

If you apply and are made an offer you will have the opportunity to attend a University Post-Application Open Day. As part of these Open Days you will be invited to the Geography Department and will hear about our degree structure and programme followed by a question and answer session. There will also be a demonstration of our online learning technologies and a mini-lecture from one of our staff. Current / recent students will also be on hand to offer insight from their experience and all applicants will be taken on a tour of the Department, followed by refreshments and an opportunity for more informal discussions with staff and students.
