The third meeting of QRA's Sea Level and Coastal Change (SLaCC) Research Group took place at Liverpool John Moores University from 6th - 8th September, 2017.

The meeting provided an informal opportunity for students and coastal scientists alike to present recent work on sea-level and coastal change over a range of spatial and temporal scales, and to receive friendly feedback and advice. The meeting focused on monitoring and modelling of coastal challenges, long-term sedimentary evidence, and examples of management in practice within the UK and NW Europe.

We were joined by several keynote speakers: Professor Ian Shennan (Durham University), Dr Sue Brooks (Birkbeck, University of London), Dr Peter Thorne (NOC) and Richard Shirres (Environment Agency). The meeting included a field day to coastal sites in the Liverpool area including Hesketh Out Marsh East, a managed realignment site, beach and dune systems at Formby and the sea-wall and intertidal flats of Crosby.

Please see the meeting report page for a full report of the meeting.
