ESRC Northern Ireland and North East Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) - Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme
(19 December 2019)
Six ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships are available via a competitive process led by the NINE Doctoral Training Partnership. The Fellowships will commence on 1st October, 2020.
The full details of the scheme, including the Application Form, Call Specification, FAQs and details on how to apply are available on the NINE DTP website.
The scheme is being advertised nationally by the ESRC.
The deadline for applications to NINE DTP is 4:00pm on 23rd March, 2020. However, as in the 2019 competition, we have a deadline for expressions of interest for candidates to submit a CV and 2-page proposal to their chosen department in advance to allow departments to appropriately manage demand and select the very best applicants.
We anticipate that ESRC PDF positions at NINE DTP institutions will be highly competitive. As with similar schemes, we expect that academic Departments / Schools will undertake a first stage of sifting. Heads of Department / School are asked only to support outstanding applicants. In order to manage demand across our seven partner institutions, Departments / Schools will normally be restricted to entering two applicants, who will be located in an accredited NINE DTP training pathway.
The total award for each Fellowship will include:
- Fellow's salary costs
- Indirect costs
- Estate costs
- Up to £10,000 of other costs (to include costs such as fieldwork, travel and subsistence, conference attendance, training, and mentoring costs, for example). ESRC will meet 80% FEC on the proposals submitted
The ESRC particularly encourage proposals that involve the use of advanced quantitative methods (AQM), data skills or engagement with partners in the business sector.
