ESF - Scientific Programmes
(22 August 2005)
The European Science Foundation has announced a call for proposals for new scientific programmes. These bring together nationally funded research activities for four or five years to address a major scientific issue at a European level. Key objectives include: creating interdisciplinary fora; sharing knowledge and expertise; developing new techniques; and training young scientists. Proposals may be submitted in the following areas: biomedical sciences; physical and engineering sciences; humanities; social sciences; life, earth, and environmental sciences; science driven issues of research infrastructures in any of the above fields. Proposals may be submitted by researchers from ESF member organisations. The typical annual budget does not usually exceed 120,000 euros per year for four to five years.
