ESRC Public Services: Quality, Performance and Delivery

(18 August 2005)

The Economic and Social Research Council solicits research proposals under its programme on public services: quality, performance and delivery. The aim is to provide a concentrated programme of theoretical and empirical research into quality and performance in public service provision, and thereby contribute to scholarly knowledge, public debate and policy development.

The programme will focus on proposals that combine questions about public services quality, performance and delivery with neat methodology and important data. The ESRC welcome proposals from across the whole range of the social sciences, using any combination of disciplines or approaches to get to the heart of the issues facing public services.

Small grants, of up to £99,999 and large grants, of up to £1.5 million, are available to researchers based at UK higher education institutions or other institutions eligible for ESRC funding.
