Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Ref: 2827

(9 October 2008)

The Department of Geography at Durham University wishes to appoint a full time Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the research project Strategic Science: Research Intermediaries and the Governance of Innovation awarded by the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council). The project considers the strategic support for research in emerging fields of technological development – principally nanotechnology and synthetic biology – and the ways in which the development of new technologies is shaped by government priorities and by the methods used to support and coordinate research. The project is led by the Principal Investigator, Dr. Matthew Kearnes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and coordination of the project.

We anticipate that this two year fixed term appointment will start on 1st January 2009.

Salary: £28,290 (pay award pending)

Closing Date: 31st October 2008
