Post 0507 – QEC Lectureship

(11 October 2004)

(Lectureship - Quaternary Environmental Change) - This post welcomes applications from less experienced scientists with a strong research potential who complement or extend the existing areas of research in which QEC is involved - but especially land-ocean inter-relations. QEC is internationally recognised for its research in a wide variety of fields, but has particular strengths in two themes under the broad banner of marine-terrestrial correlation; sea-level changes and coastal evolution and palaeo-ice sheet dynamics. In addition, it has strong interests in reconstructing palaeoenvironmental change from marine environments, the Quaternary history of fluvial systems, as well as the vegetation history and human landscape impacts. Examples of specialisms that may be attractive include: quantitative modelling of environmental change; geochemistry of marine and / or terrestrial sediments; climate change from marine records. This list is not in order of priority and applications from candidates working in other areas of Quaternary Science that demonstrate strong research potential are welcome.
