Agricultural Directorate Postdoctoral Fellowship - UK

The Agricultural Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development invites applications for its postdoctoral fellowships under its cooperative research programme on biological resource management for sustainable agricultural systems. Through promotion of international cooperation and networking in priority areas of basic and applied agro-food research, the objectives of the programme are:

to provide a sound scientific knowledge base to agricultural policy-making;
to contribute to an informed public debate on current and emerging agro-food issues and to help resolve conflicting views in member countries;
to contribute to scientific advances in this field; and
to promote scientific understanding and standards between major regions of OECD.
The programme consists of three research themes: natural resources challenge; sustainability in practice; and the food chain.

Nationals of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Turkey, UK and USA, who wish to undertake cooperative research in another participating country, may apply.

Researchers should be under 50 years old and hold a PhD, or equivalent experience, and a permanent or contract position. Fellowships cover travel expenses and a subsistence allowance of up to 450 euros equivalent per week. Funding is available for two to 26 weeks.
