PDRA in Health and Risk - Ref: 1985

Durham University wishes to appoint a full-time post-doctoral research associate to contribute to the development of an exciting programme of work on health and risk. The post is for three years starting 1st October 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The aim is to conduct a research project around one of the themes outlined below, as part of the research programme of the Institute of Hazard and Risk Research (IHRR) (http://www.dur.ac.uk/ihrr/) and the Wolfson Research Institute (http://www.dur.ac.uk/wolfson.institute/).

The IHRR vision for research on human health is to create a world leading centre of excellence for multi-disciplinary research on hazards and risks for human health, approached from a perspective considering risks associated with the social, political and economic environment, as well as physical hazards. The research activities of the Wolfson Research Institute focus on medicine, health and the wellbeing of people and places with particular emphasis upon analysing these issues in the north east of England. The includes the GOHWELL (Geographies of Health and Wellbeing) cluster, which comprises researchers concerned with the ways in which health and wellbeing may both constitute and result from inequalities in wealth, health, living conditions and life-chances.

Salary: £26,666 per annum
