Modeling, Analysis & Prediction Climate Variability & Change

(11 October 2004)

Nasa is inviting proposals for its modeling, analysis, and prediction climate variability and change program. This program provides opportunities to participate in earth science enterprise research and development activities focused on climate variability and change from regional to global scales. Proposals are invited across the research disciplines that support the development of improved earth system understanding through integration of surface, in situ and satellite observations with models that represent elements of the earth system.

Participation in the Nasa research announcement is open to all categories of domestic and foreign organizations. Nasa anticipates that approximately $20 million per year will be awarded. Several multi-investigator proposals will be funded ranging up to $5m per year. Smaller scale proposals should not exceed $500,000 per year with three-year duration grants. In addition, $2m per year will be allocated in the area of global modeling initiative and $2m per year in the cloud modeling and analysis initiative. NN-H-04-Z-YS-008-N
