Faculty invests in Geography
(4 April 2007)
This money will fund two new facilities in Geography
The two awards are for:
1. A Global Positioning System / Geographical Information Systems Laboratory (GPS/GIS). Including a Leica differential GPS system, four new workstations and software. This state of the art equipment will complement and enhance our existing Remote Sensing facility, to promote research in both human and physical geography.
(Prof. Sarah Curtis and Dr Chris Stokes) £58,054.
2. A Micromorphology Laboratory. This Laboratory will comprise specialist microscopes, image capture equipment, and reference material. We believe this facility will also be a major attraction for research postgraduates, including the growing number of self-funded MRes students.
(Dr. Colm O’Cofaigh) £10,540.
