ESRC - Changing Lives and Times Wualitative Longitudinal Study

(16 March 2005)

The Economic and Social Research Council invites outline proposals for its changing lives and times qualitative longitudinal study initiative. The aim of the initiative is to provide a major qualitative longitudinal resource for re-use by the wider social science community and to instigate a programme of work based on qualitative longitudinal methodology, bringing together the knowledge and expertise of researchers across the social sciences.

One qualitative longitudinal co-ordinated network, to include a director and a number of qualitative longitudinal projects, will be commissioned.

Applications must be from researchers based at UK higher education institutions and other research Institutes eligible for ESRC funding. A total of £3 million in funding is available. Funding will be for five years in the first instance with a potential for continued funding for successful projects after review. It is expected that the network will commence from April 2006.
