Royal Society - Wolfson research merit awards
(11 March 2005)
The Royal Society invites nominations for the Wolfson research merit awards, jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Office of Science and Technology. The purpose of these awards is to give institutions support to attract to or keep in the UK researchers of outstanding achievement and potential.
University vice-chancellors and principals may nominate candidates with current or guaranteed permanent posts.
Awards typically consist of £40,000 per annum for five years primarily for salary enhancement, but the society will also consider requests for technical/secretarial help or support for projects not suitable for research grant applications to other funding bodies.
