NASA: land cover/land use change

(11 March 2005)

The Nasa Science Mission Directorate invites applications for its land cover/land use change program under the research opportunities in space and earth science announcement. Nasa is particularly interested in studies on land cover and land use that are coupled to climate variability and global change and are likely to affect the resources and services that agriculture, forest, and rangelands provide to society and the natural environment. Of particular importance are studies that would focus on analysis of existing databases and theories about climate-related processes that affect land-use change, including uncertainty analysis, and on the evaluation of how the type and distribution of land cover affects climate patterns.
