Postdoctoral Research Associate (20%) - Ref: 1782

The Department of Geography at the University of Durham wishes to appoint a part-time (20%) post-doctoral research associate to work on a three year research project awarded by the ESRC to Professor Sarah Whatmore (Oxford), Professor Neil Ward (Newcastle) and Professor Stuart Lane (Durham). This project will study flooding as a pressing rural land management problem that is controversial among scientists and the public, especially those directly affected. We are looking for a research associate who has experience in working at the interface between diffuse pollution science and policy in the U.K. The successful candidate will have been awarded (or recently submitted) a PhD on a related research area. Candidates with inter-disciplinary backgrounds may be particularly well-suited to the post.

Salary: £26,666- £31,840 per annum pro rata.
