RGS - Slawson Awards

This is to support individuals undertaking field-based research as a substantive part of their PhD research outside the UK and preferably in developing countries. The grant will assist with travel, accommodation and local costs of the field research.

The award applies to geographical fieldwork involving key development issues with a high social value, and include projects in geography related disciplines, eg anthropology or economics. Applicants must normally be UK citizens, currently registered for a PhD at a UK institute of higher education. Applicants must be fellows or associate fellows of the society. Up to £3,000 is available.
