Sino-British Fellowship Trust

The British Academy invites applications under the Sino-British fellowship trust to support individual or cooperative research projects in the humanities and social sciences. Projects may be conducted in Britain and/or China, and must involve person-to-person contacts.

Funding may be used for: British scholars visiting China or inviting Chinese scholars to visit Britain in connection with a project involving collaboration with Chinese colleagues; British scholars both to visit China and to invite Chinese scholars to visit Britain; small workshops on a joint collaborative project; and longer-term fellowships and short visits in connection with a larger project.

The principal applicant on the British side should hold a permanent position in a UK institution. All scholars must be of postdoctoral status. Grants of up to £10,000 are awarded.

Closing dates
15th October, 15th January & 15th April annually.
