ESRC Seminar awards: immigration and demographic challenges in Europe

Norface invites applications for its seminar awards: immigration and demographic challenges in Europe:

品mmigration policies and demographic change;

品mmigration in an ageing society;

品mmigration and social cohesion;

品ntergenerational perspectives on immigration;

品mmigration and changing gender patterns.

The objectives of the competition are to:

品mprove cross-border collaboration in the existing areas of strength and excellence of the Norface partners;

頻romote areas of new emerging research and areas where the added value of Norface cooperation can be demonstrated;

品nclude young researchers in order to improve their opportunities for cross-border collaboration between researchers.

The seminar activities are expected to begin in September 2006. The maximum sum available per award is 80,000 euros including overheads for a period of two years. The funding is intended to supplement national research funding.

Eligible applicants are researchers of high international standing from universities or research institutions in the Norface partner countries Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden and the UK, with a track record of excellence, working within the relevant prioritised theme.
