Post Doctoral Research Associates x 3 - Post: 012908

(17 April 2018)

Applications are invited for three Postdoctoral Research Associates in Geography each for a period of 36 months to work on the research project Density Assemblages: Intensity and the City in a Global Urban Age (DenCity). DenCity is led by Professor Colin McFarlane and funded under the European Research Council’s (ERC) Consolidator Scheme. The project examines how high urban densities – or ‘intensities’ – are lived and perceived in Asian cities, focusing on Mumbai, Dhaka, Hong Kong, Manila and Tokyo. It explores several themes that cut-across different sites in urban Asia: urban markets, waste and informality, urban mobility, vertical densities, and ways of seeing and knowing intensity.

For informal enquiries please contact Professor Colin McFarlane: colin.mcfarlane@durham.ac.uk; tel: 00 44 (0)191 334 1959.

Closing date: Midday 16th May 2018
