Making New Discoveries on BBC Horizon

(25 August 2015)

Dr Innes demonstrated and explained soil coring to discover Mesolithic charcoal layers created by fires made by the Mesolithic people and pollen deposited by plants of the time, giving a perfect example of how practical exercises used in undergraduate studies are used in practice to make new discoveries and impact on our history.

The programme will be available until mid-September on BBC iPlayer.
