Teaching Fellow in GIS and Physical Geography 0.5 FTE - Post: 4869

The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow (Grade 7) in GIS and Physical Geography for a fixed term until June 2018. You will join a department committed to research excellence, being ranked first for research power in REF2014, and teaching excellence, being second in the Complete University Guide and fourth in the Guardian Guides 2016. The person appointed will contribute to teaching on GIS in physical geography by contributing to existing modules, developing new materials and providing advice and guidance on GIS based student research.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to their teaching, the successful candidate will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider human geography programme. The successful candidate will be given opportunities for career development and to maintain their research.
