The Geography Department at Durham University seeks to employ a full-time postdoctoral Research Associate (RA) for a period of two years to carry out research as part of the DemandAT project, 'Addressing Demand in Anti-Trafficking Efforts and Policies'. The project, funded under the EU Seventh Framework Programme, investigates the approaches of anti-trafficking initiatives and policies seeking to reduce 'demand'. The RA will work on the study led by Durham University to identify and analyze existing and proposed efforts to address 'demand' for trafficking and forced labour in the context of complex supply chains and production networks.

The RA will join Durham University's Department of Geography, one of the leading centres of geographical research and education in the world. The RA will: contribute to the development of an appropriate methodological framework for the study; carry out data collection, likely to include international fieldwork; collaborate on data analysis; and assist in coordinating the advisory board for the study. The RA will also: attend meetings and other activities of the overall DemandAT project; present aspects of the study at academic conferences; and contribute to / initiate scholarly and policy-oriented publications resulting from the project. The successful candidate will have considerable opportunity to develop his / her publication profile.

Salary: £30,728 to £32,590
