Postdoctoral Research Associate - Ref: 2039

The Department of Geography at Durham University wishes to appoint a full time Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the research project The Rising Powers, Clean Development and the Low Carbon Transition in sub-Saharan Africa, awarded to Professor Marcus Power and Professor Harriet Bulkeley by the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) under the ‘Rising Powers and Interdependent Futures’ scheme. This scheme is part of a broader initiative designed to deepen our understanding of the changes within the Rising Powers, the regional and global impacts of the Rising Powers interdependencies, and the economic, political and social implications for the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for key aspects of the day to day organisation and conduct of the project and will work with Professor Bulkeley and Professor Power at Durham along with three colleagues at the University of Sussex (Dr Adrian Smith, Professor Jim Watson and Professor Peter Newell) and a second project RA (also based at Sussex). We anticipate that this two year contract will start on 1st October 2012.

Salary: £30,122 - £31,948
