Staff and Postgraduate Research Seminar: 'The Great Tew Circle,' by Professor Graham Parry (University of York)
Professor Parry is the author of a number of books, including The Golden Age Restor'd: the Culture of the Stuart Court 1603-1642 (Manchester University Press, 1981); Seventeenth-Century Poetry: the Social Context (Hutchinson, 1985); The Seventeenth Century: The Social and Intellectual Context of English Literature, 1600-1700 (Longman, 1989); The Trophies of Time: English Antiquarians of the Seventeenth Century (Oxford UP, 1995) and The Arts of the Anglican Counter-Reformation: Glory, Laud and Honour (Boydell & Brewer, 2006).
The seminar, which will be chaired by Professor Shell, will be held in Hallgarth House at 4:30, followed by drinks in The Victoria.
