Inventions of the Text: 'The body’s state stable & labile”: Crises of Self and Society in John Berryman’s Early Poetry,' by Amy Jordan (Durham University)
Amy will be looking at a selection from John Berryman’s first full-length volume The Dispossessed, focussing on his changing conception of the poetic persona in the midst of a global crisis for which, he believed, all shared responsibility.
