Staff/Postgraduate Research Seminar: 'Maps of Utopia: H.G. Wells and the End of Culture' by Dr. Simon James (University of Durham)

Simon James is Senior Lecturer at the University of Durham. He is the author of Unsettled Accounts: Money and Narrative in the Novels of George Gissing (Anthem Press, 2003). He has edited four H. G. Wells novels for Penguin Classics, as well as George Gissing's Charles Dickens: A Critical Study (Grayswood, 2004). He is also the editor of the journal The Wellsian. In addition, he has published a number essays and aritcles on topics such as masculinity, consumption and realism in Victorian literature. He is currently finishing a monograph on H. G. Wells.
