Literary Letters
Join our own Dr Laura McKenzie for a tour through the archives of famous writers, at this Durham Book Festival event.
In the words of John Donne, ‘More than kisses, letters mingle souls’. The archives of Palace Green Library hold letters written by some of the most significant literary figures of the modern age, and this session offers the chance to read them in their original form and discuss the stories that bring them to life.
From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Modernists and beyond, we’ll be dipping into the correspondence between some of canonical writers of the Western literary tradition.
This is just one of more than 80 events taking place during Durham Book Festival. Visit the website for the full programme.
