International Pynchon Week 2013

5th August 2013, 09:00 to 8th August 2013, 17:00, Durham University

2013 marks three significant anniversaries for readers and scholars of Thomas Pynchon: 50 years since the publication of his first novel, V., 40 since his most acclaimed work, Gravity’s Rainbow, and 250 years since the arrival of Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon on American shores (the start of the surveying project that would divide a nation, which is the subject of Pynchon’s novel, Mason & Dixon).

Jeremiah Dixon was born and died in Cockfield in County Durham, and educated at Barnard Castle. Thus it is especially appropriate that the conference will be held at Durham University.

For more information and the Call for Papers, visit the official conference website.
