Abstract

This paper will investigate the relationship between technology use and the use of constructivist strategies when addressing Saudi primary students' mathematics difficulties. Semi-structured interviews and observations were used for the purpose of this research, which were undertaken with three mathematics teachers from school A which used technology, and the other three from school B, which did not use technology. We found that technology can support constructivist approach when teaching and learning mathematics. Therefore, it is interesting to mention that the use of technology not only helps in increasing practice and motivation, but also can be used to help students regarding their misconceptions about mathematics consistent with constructivist and radical constructivist approaches.
