Alumni

Durham Anthropology alumni have gone on to great things in the world. Durham Anthropology alumni of note include politicians such as Mo Mowlam, Rachel Squire and Lucy Allan; successful businesspeople and entrepreneurs such as Eden Project founder Sir Tim Smit; filmmakers and explorers such as Chris Terrill; military officers such as Anthony Johnstone-Burt OBE; and sportspeople such as Tim Stimpson.

Whatever your achievements post graduation are, we want to stay in touch. It's exciting for us to hear what happens to our graduates after they leave the hallowed halls of Durham University. When any of us gets news about past students, the first thing we do is circulate it round emails to other colleagues. Believe it or not, we miss past students!

Alumni updates are not just blasts from the past, though. They are important guides for current students. It's important for every cohort of students to know what's possible with an anthropology degree. We want to be able to share real experiences of people who've been there and worked through the hassles and hardships of figuring out what to do after graduation. Sharing your experiences isn't just about staying in touch with lecturers who sometimes made life more challenging than you'd have liked. It's about making connections with a group of people who share some of the same transformative experiences that you've lived through.
