Former Energy CDT Student wins Young Energy Professional Award

Former Energy CDT student Andrew Crossland has won the Rising Star Award at the 2017 Young Energy Professionals Awards.
Andrew received his award at the Energy UK Young Energy Professionals Forum awards evening on the 6 July 2017 in front of 160 attendees.
The Rising Star Award is awarded to an individual with less than one year’s experience in the
energy industry but who has already had an outstanding impact.
After earning a PhD from Durham University in 2014, Andrew worked at Tesla and Network Rail before commencing his career at Solarcentury as their Energy Storage Specialist. He built a residential solar PV and battery storage offering for IKEA and helped to win a tender to build two multi-megawatt microgrids and the two largest batteries in East Africa. Andrew also built and manages the energy information service MyGridGB.
