(25 November 2014)
We have now uploaded the student records data for all TEIs into Banner and generated Banner IDs for students. We will be sending Banner IDs to TEIs as a priority task early this week.
This means that we are still on track with our planned timetable of uploading TEIs’ data to Banner and creating student records in November-December 2014. The deadline of 13th October 2014 that we asked TEIs to submit their data by was a deadline that allowed us a period of time afterwards to perform the detailed data checking and verification process that had to be undertaken prior to uploading the student records data into Banner, in advance of our census date on 1st December 2014. This data checking period was crucial as (a) there are strict formatting requirements that have to be adhered to for any data that is uploaded into Banner and (b) the accuracy of the data is essential as it will be the basis on which student transcripts and parchments are produced.
This data verification process has taken somewhat longer than anticipated, due to the large number of amendments and queries that arose from TEIs’ student records data. This large number of amendments necessitated the introduction of an additional data verification stage into the process in order for us to confirm with TEIs that the final version of the data we had for them was correct. However we now have all the student records data uploaded and we would like to thank TEIs for their help during this process.
We will be in contact with TEIs again shortly to provide an update on a deadline for them to send us their campus card photographs by. TEIs are reminded to send us an estimate of the number of their students who are likely to require a campus card if they have not already done so. Further information on campus cards, including the formatting requirements for the campus card photographs can be found in our recent announcements here and here.
