Important update: Student records data
(10 September 2014)
In previous months we have issued various communications to inform TEIs of the data we require in mid-October to create student records.
Deadline for data returns
TEIs are advised to note that we will be taking the first set of data on 13th October 2014.
We have contacted all TEIs to inform them of our data requirements (the type and format of data we will be taking in October).
You can find a summary of this information in the TEI Handbook.
1. All TEIs must ensure that the required data are available in the specified format by the deadline of 13th October.
2. TEIs are advised to take note of the specific data requirements (field size and format) we have for our student record system (and which are, therefore, specified within CAVLE). In particular, TEIs should note:
a. the student's gender should be listed as 'F' or 'M' (we cannot accept 'undisclosed');
b. the student's name should be their legal name. As this is the name we will be using for our data records (and so will appear on student transcripts and parchments), TEIs should ensure that the first letter of each name starts with a capital letter.
3. If TEIs are concerned that they will not be able to enter the data onto CAVLE by 13th October 2014, they should contact the Common Awards Team as a matter of urgency.
