APL: University Approval

Earlier this year the Common Awards Team issued supplementary guidance on:
As set out in that guidance, Durham University will need to consider for approval any APL claims (including APCL and APEL claims) that do not meet the University's principles and the supplementary guidance for the Common Awards.
Cases that require Durham University approval will be highlighted by the 'APL Checklist' document.
TEIs should send the APL claims to the University as early as possible so that sufficient time can be given to processing and considering each claim.
TEIs are reminded that they should not pre-judge the outcome of the application for APL; the student should be informed of the outcome only after the TEI has received formal confirmation of the outcome from the University.
