Appointment of Dr Ashley Cocksworth to the Common Awards team
(31 August 2017)
We are very pleased to announce that we have appointed Dr Ashley Cocksworth to the Common Awards team. He will be covering for Frances Clemson during her maternity leave, and will be with us from the start of September through to the end of July next year. Ash is being seconded from The Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham, where he has been Tutor in Systematic Theology since 2012, and we’re very grateful to David Hewlett and his colleagues for making this arrangement possible.
Ash is the author of Karl Barth on Prayer and the forthcoming Prayer: A Guide for the Perplexed. He will be taking on a range of duties including preparation for the Common Awards Student Conference, and will be working closely with Professor Mike Higton on development of Common Awards research projects.
Ash says, “I’m delighted to join the Common Awards team at Durham University. Having worked at the Queen’s Foundation, Birmingham for a number of years, I’m looking forward to getting to know staff and students from other TEIs. I’m also excited about contributing to the shaping of the research activity across the network, working in partnership with the churches, and to being plugged into the life of the Department.”
