Music on the River - Durham University Chamber Choir

10th June 2012, 18:30 to 19:30, Riverbank by Prebends Bridge, Durham

'Music on the River’ is an annual favourite presented by Durham University Chamber Choir. An evening of music in a lighter vein, performed from rowing boats on the water whilst audiences picnic on the riverbank. It promises to be an enjoyable evening for all to make the most of the summer weather.

Chamber Choir comprises twenty of the finest singers from across the university and has established a reputation for stylish and exciting performances. The choir sings several concerts each year in Durham and the surrounding area; recent highlights have included a concert with Chamber Choir alumni at which Tallis’ ‘Spem in Alium’ and Parry’s ‘Songs of Farewell’ were performed. In addition to its concert series, the choir is preparing for a number of exciting projects in the coming months, including its tour to Germany in the summer.

Free admission is available for all. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Music School, Palace Green.
