Abigail Eggleston, a 22-year-old Law student at John Snow College, died on Sunday 26 October, having been hit by a car.
Abigail’s death came as a shock to our whole University community, and particularly those who were close to her.
She was a talented, kind, committed student, and a popular member of John Snow College. She contributed actively to College life and was a member of the executive of the Disability Support Society.
Abigail loved her time at Durham, and had a wide range of friends across the University.
We are very deeply sorry for Abigail’s family. We are supporting students and staff affected by her death.
