Stephenson College

Facilities

College facilities are open to all members of the college community.

Stephenson Central is the heart of the College and is home to the College Reception and both staff and JCR offices. It is also the hub of student activity across our three platforms and a good base for students between lectures.

Platform 1: Opening daily, the cafe serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and hot food, it transforms by night in to the College bar, hosting regular JCR/MCR nights and sporting events on the big screen.

Platform 2: A multi-functional space, this platform offers a social area when not being used for special events such as performance space for our Rocket Theatre Company and other student groups.

Platform 3: A quiet study space, with computers and study tables. It's also used for seminars and guest speakers.

Platform 4: A dedicated study space with study carrels and printing facilities. Platform 4 is located just inside the entrance to Walker A and is swipe access with your Campus Card.

Saltwell: A multi-functional space for anything from yoga and wellbeing sessions, to Locomotion Dinners or hosting guest speakers.

The Heighington: A space for innovation; through independent study or collaborative working.

Music Room: Allowing our budding musicians of all abilities to practice their music.

The Gym: Shared with Butler, membership of the gym at Howlands is currently £20 for the academic year, for members of Stephenson JCR or MCR.

Sports Areas: Stephenson share indoor and outdoor sports areas for team training or causal sports for fun.
