Biography

Background:

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in archaeology, specializing in Iron Age archaeology in Kazakhstan, from the School of Archaeology and Ethnology at Eurasian National University. Following that, I pursued my Master of Science in Osteoarchaeology from Sheffield University's Department of Archaeology, which I completed in 2017.

Current PhD Research:

My ongoing PhD research is tentatively titled "A Steppe Forward – geometric morphometric and palaeopathological analyses of early Nomad populations from Kazakhstan." The primary objective of my thesis is to utilize multiple lines of bioarchaeological evidence to gain a comprehensive understanding of the populations that once inhabited the study region through the implementation of three-dimensional (3D) modelling techniques. Additionally, I aim to create 3D models of human bones using photogrammetry, which can contribute to the educational process at the university. These 3D models will serve as valuable illustrative materials, particularly for institutions without access to actual osteological materials from Kazakhstan. By engaging university students and museum visitors, these models can help raise awareness of the past in society and enhance the appreciation of osteological collections.
