NHSBSA Bursary Information

The Durham MSW attracts bursaries for EU students that are administered by the NHS Bursary Advisory Service. More information about the bursary can be found here: www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/students.

Please note, the number of NHSBSA social work bursaries are capped each year and these are normally allocated on a first-come-first-served basis to applicants firmly accepting offers for the coming year. To find out about availability of bursaries please contact the admissions tutor via sociology.pgadmissions@durham.ac.uk.

NEFirst Postgraduate Loan Scheme

An MSW student can apply for a £4,000 loan towards fees at the beginning of Year 1 (which would be £2,000 for Year 1 and £2,000 for Year 2), but would only receive the £4,000 payment at the beginning of Year 2 after they have registered. Then they would start to repay the loan after they have completed the 2-year course, and would have 4 years to repay it. For further information on NEFirst loans please click here.
