+Does the Department have any summer studentships available to current undergraduates?

The Department normally has some funds available to support a few students to work in the Department over the summer for about three weeks per student. Research group leaders are also sometimes in a position to supplement the payment for these projects to extend them over further weeks in addition to the Department's contribution. The projects are advertised each year, around the middle of the Epiphany Term. An email is circulated to all current students giving information about how to view the available projects and to submit a choice for consideration for selection. The allocation of project funding to staff is based on the strategic fit of the project within the Department. Students are then selected to undertake the projects based on their academic performance, interest in the subject matter and other relevant experience. Claire Davies manages the organisation of studentships.
