We are delighted to announce the Programme of events for this year’s Durham Global Week, a celebration of the university's international impact, through our students, staff and connections Durham Global Week will take place from February 24 to March 3, 2024 and include over 30 events for staff, students, our the local and international communities and to enjoy.

The week will feature a diverse range of events focused on different aspects of Durham's global connections, including research, languages, culture, and global citizenship.

Highlights of the week will include the Lunar New Year, ‘Year of the Dragon’ celebration at the Oriental Museum, a Global Goals Summit, WorldFest at Durham Students’ Union, Human Library, an international photography competition and several exhibitions.

Other activities will include guest speakers, film screenings, concerts, workshops, and more.

Many of the events will include external partners, eminent scholars and experts and other key stakeholders, whilst we’re also inviting staff and students to put forward their ideas for events.

Durham Global Awards
The week will culminate with the annual Durham Global Awards ceremony on Friday 1 March, when we recognise contributions to Durham's internationalisation efforts. Awards will be given across 11 categories honouring staff and students.

Promoting diversity and global perspectives
Global Week aims to celebrate Durham's multicultural community, highlight the importance of global awareness, and recognise the university's global impact.

We are encouraging all Durham students, staff and the general public to participate by attending events or proposing their own event ideas.

With students and staff from over 150 countries, Global Week will showcase Durham's extensive global reach and connections, building on Durham's strengths as a leading global university.
